Hydrostatic testing (hydro testing) is a, often non-destructive, method to verify the integrity and leak-tightness of pressure vessels, pipelines, gas cylinders, and boilers by filling them with water (sometimes dyed), pressurizing to a specific level—often the operating pressure—and holding it to monitor for leaks or structural failure.
