Once the "sticks" are in the ground, mechanical QC ensures the skeleton of the array is rigid and functional. Key Inspection Points: Torque Marking: This is the "holy grail" of mechanical QC. Every critical bolt (especially on the torque tube) must be tightened to spec and marked with a "torque seal" (witness paint) to show it hasn't loosened. Tracker Alignment: For horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT), inspectors check the "stow position" and travel range to ensure the motors aren't straining. Module Mounting: * Ensuring clamps are positioned at the correct pressure points on the frame. Checking for "micro-cracking" caused by over-tightening or walking on modules. Gapping & Tolerances: Ensuring thermal expansion gaps are maintained between rails so the metal doesn't buckle in summer heat.
