why

Our aerial monitoring services provide a dual-layered approach to pipeline integrity, combining high-resolution visual imagery with advanced infrared thermography. This methodology allows for the rapid assessment of hundreds of kilometers of infrastructure, identifying risks that are often invisible to the naked eye or ground-based patrols. High-Resolution Visual Inspection Using 4K stabilized cameras, we capture detailed imagery to detect physical threats and structural anomalies. This includes identifying:Encroachment & Third-Party Activity: Monitoring for unauthorized construction or excavation near the right-of-way (ROW).Geohazard & Environmental Impact: Assessing soil erosion, landslides, or vegetation overgrowth that could compromise pipe stability.Mechanical Damage: Spotting external corrosion, coating degradation, or physical impacts on exposed segments.Infrared Thermal MappingThermal imaging is a critical tool for identifying subsurface issues and product loss. By detecting minute temperature differentials (${\Delta}T$) between the pipeline and the surrounding environment, we can pinpoint:Leak Detection: Identifying "cold spots" (gas leaks due to the Joule-Thomson effect) or "hot spots" (liquid hydrocarbon leaks) that indicate a breach in containment.Insulation & Flow Assurance: Detecting anomalies in insulated pipes or identifying paraffin wax buildup and "slugs" through heat signatures.Illegal Tapping: Spotting unauthorized hot-tapping points by analyzing thermal disturbances in the pipeline's surface temperature profile.Data-Driven InsightsThe raw data from these flights is processed into geo-referenced reports. By overlaying thermal data onto visual maps, we provide a "digital twin" of the pipeline's current state, allowing maintenance teams to prioritize repairs based on the severity of the anomaly rather than a set schedule.
